I felt like I was being propelled into my future when I took my daughter and her best friend ziplining for her 12th birthday. I was securely harnessed and attached the cable above, so all I had to do to experience the exhiliration of flying through the treetops was to follow my tour guide’s directive of “let go”.
Two very simple words yet so powerful when executed. In my life I am letting go of what is familiar and known to pursue my dream which has a framework but is by no means all mapped out. But what I find is that when I follow my instinct an idea, a contact or inspiration helps me get closer to fulfilling my purpose. This space I am in right now in my life is exciting yet uncertain all at the same time. However, I would not trade it for anything because for the first time in a long time I feel that I am truly living and not just existing!
I believe we instinctively know what is right for our lives and when things are out of alignment. Take some quiet time, with a journal, to reflect on what activities or experiences in your life give you the most joy and which ones drain you. Work towards feeding the areas of your life that give you joy no matter how simple it may seem. Decide to let go of old hurts, unforgivenness or any other burden that is weighing you down. As you can tell, my ziplining adventure turned into a life metaphor for me, deciding to let go allowed me to have a blast at ziplining as well as at living my life to the fullest! Let Go!
